With this coil it is easier to seperate valuable objects from junk due to its precise discrimination. In addition to this, the 4" Gold Nugget coil allows you to get into tight spots in corners and crevices.

This coil can detect smaller relics, coins and nuggets better because the ratio of metal to detection area is much higher than with a larger coil. The 4" Gold Nugget coil can separate objects more effectively than large coils because of the narrow field of detection, this allows for precise pinpointing.
The 4" coil can be probed into small areas and tight spots such as corners and crevices, which would be harder to do with a large coil.
