Ethylene-Diamine-Tetra-Acetic-acid

This compound is used to treat lead, tin and pewter which exhibits compact and surface corrosion. EDTA will also remove corrosion from iron and some users claim some success with silver. Lead is poisonous and should not be inhaled or ingested. It is advisable to wear mask and gloves when treating it. If EDTA solution comes into contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly under running water and seek medical advice. Dispose of spent solutions in a suitable place

Used substances must never be poured down the sink or drain as this is a major source of pollution. Used substances should be placed in a sealed container and taken to a civic amenity point for correct disposal. Label all containers to avoid confusion.
